Spring 2020 Session
As of Saturday, March 21st, the state has mandated, due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, a shelter in place for all residents. In light of this information, CGA has decided to postpone the start of our Spring 2020 session to Monday, April 13th.
We would like to encourage you all to stay registered for our Spring session to hold your child’s space in their class. We will not bill for this session until it actually begins and tuition will be adjusted accordingly. There is no risk or cost associated with holding your child’s spot in their class; and doing so will make it significantly easier for you and for us as we make changes to the session dates and billing amounts.
Quarantine Gymnastics Academy
We have created a private Facebook group specifically to serve our families during the time the gym is closed. For more information, please refer to our current email newsletter which can also be read here.

We truly appreciate your continued support through this difficult time. Our management team is working together to navigate this situation as best we can, and using the resources available to us to discern the best way to 1) Minimize the impact this has on our community and 2) Afford our gymnasts the least disruption possible to their long-term gymnastics success.
As of this morning, USAG has officially canceled all sanctioned events through March 30. We have received word from the Illinois Men’s Gymnastics State Chairman that they have decided to cancel Boys Compulsory Regionals, Boys Optional Regionals, and Boys JO Nationals for the 2020 season. We are expecting the women’s program to do the same in the near future, but have not received official word yet. We feel at this point it is safe to assume that the remainder of the Girls State and Regional competitions will be cancelled for the year as well. We are heartbroken for our gymnasts and coaches that they will not have the opportunity to showcase what we have been training for this season.
As mentioned above, we are considering future training options for our gymnasts that will lend to their long-term gymnastics success, all while being mindful of our commitment to the community’s effort minimize the spread of the virus. At this point in time we have made the decision that in addition to cancelling all team practices this week (3/16-3/22), we will be cancelling al practices the following week as well (3/23-3/29). We are weighing options for potentially running team practices beginning March 30 that will include following the appropriate social distancing procedures outlined by the WHO & CDC. We will have more information available to you as soon as we have finalized our plans.
This is an ever-changing situation, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Please continue to stay connected via email for further updates.
March 13, 2020 - Updates
As of Friday, March 13 the state has mandated, due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, that all public and private schools close to students effective Tuesday, March 17 and continuing through Monday, March 30.
Spring Break Camp
In light of this information, CGA has decided to cancel our Spring Break Camp (3/16 – 3/20) to aid in the community’s effort to facilitate social distancing. We are disappointed to have to cancel this programming on such short notice, but feel it is in the best interest of our CGA families and their well-being.
We will be issuing everyone who has already paid for the camp a full refund. Payments made by credit card will be refunded back to the card; payments made by cash or check will be refunded by check.
Spring Session Postponed
In light of this information, CGA has decided to postpone the start of our Spring 2020 session to Monday, March 30. We plan to still offer 10 weeks of instruction for this session, pushing the last day of the session back to Sunday, June 7. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but feel it is in the best interest of our CGA families and their well-being.
For those enrolled in the Winter session, we will be running our Saturday and Sunday (3/14-3/15) as planned.
Team Practice Updates
We will run team practices as scheduled Saturday, March 14 – Sunday, March 15. We will be cancelling all team practices from Monday, March 16 – Sunday, March 22. During that week CGA will be completely closed. We are currently evaluating our options for the week of March 23. Once we have reached a final decision about the remainder of March, we will assess how to handle billing. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but feel it is in the best interest of our CGA families and their well-being.
We appreciate your flexibility and understanding throughout this ever-changing situation. Please continue to stay connected via email for further updates.

We appreciate the support we’ve received in regards to our facility illness management strategies. We can assure you that we are doing our very best in this situation to stay informed and to make decisions that are in the best interest of our families.
We would like to encourage you all to stay registered for our Spring session to hold your child’s space in their class. We will not bill for this session until it actually begins. If the session begins later, billing will be pushed back accordingly. There is no risk or cost associated with holding your child’s spot in their class, and doing so will make it significantly easier for you and for us if we do have to make changes to the session dates and/or billing amount.
We always have had a 100 percent refund policy and this situation will be no different. In the event that when we get closer to the start of the session you decide to drop, we will either delete the fees or refund the full amount.
We will continue to monitor this ever-changing situation, and keep you updated with any new information that may affect our plans. Thank you for your patience.

We wanted to take this opportunity to address the current situation with the Coronavirus and some of the extra steps we are taking to ensure a clean and healthy gym at CGA.
We always prioritize the cleanliness of our gym with daily cleanings as well as weekly deep cleans of the gyms and lobbies. We are increasing our cleaning schedule with daily disinfecting of the main gym, pre-school gym, and both lobbies. We have also placed extra hand sanitizing stations around the facility for frequent and convenient use. We have informed our staff to make sure they are practicing extra hand washing throughout their shifts. We ask that you and your children do the same.
In addition to stepping up our disinfecting regimen, we also ask that if you or your kids are not well that you please stay home. Our preference is that individuals who have recently experienced a fever or other symptoms do not come into the facility. Please use a cautious approach when deciding when it is safe to return from illness. For additional information to assist you in making this decision please use the following the link – How Sick is Too Sick?
We have a very open make-up policy in our rec program and are happy to accommodate make-ups through the session. Though team gymnasts will not be able to make-up missed practices, we feel it is in the best interest of our gymnasts and coaches that they follow the same guidelines.
Inside the facility, we ask that you help us continue to make CGA a safe environment by assisting us in the following areas –
LIMITED SPECTATORS - We want to limit spectators during this time to minimize person-to-person contact whenever possible. If you are able to drop-off your children for their class or practice, we would encourage you to do so.
DISCOURAGED WATER FOUNTAIN USE - Though we disinfect our water fountain daily, we cannot disinfect it after every use. Please send your child with a reusable water bottle to their class or practice instead.
LIMITED CONTACT - As much as we love high fives, we will be offering our encouragement without physical contact at this time. We will also be discontinuing our use of stamps at this time.
This is a fluid situation and we will continue to evaluate any further steps needed on a daily basis. We will do our best to keep everyone at CGA informed as quickly as possible if anything changes. Unit 4 schools will heavily guide any future decisions we may choose to make in regards to closing the facility for a period of time. We are considering options such as postponing or shortening our upcoming session.
If a member of your household is diagnosed with the Coronavirus, we ask that you please notify the management staff at CGA immediately. Management can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, and firstname.lastname@example.org.
We pride ourselves on being an open and honest member of the community so if you have any questions, please ask! We would be happy to answer them.
